TVCS Has a New Patch!

posted Dec 18, 2016, 1:17 PM by Matt Borland

Thompson Valley Composite Squadron has a new patch! Designed by Capt. Alex Nuckols, the updated patch has just been approved by the Colorado Wing commander. It incorporates new unit patch guidance from the USAF and presents a new motto: Trans Caelum Montesque, meaning "Across the Sky and Mountains."

As with any patch, the update to TVCS' is built upon rich symbols and meaning.

The motto was selected as it embodies the mission of Thompson Valley. Our airplanes soar across the sky and over the mountains while our ground teams travel across the mountains, looking to the sky for our friends above.

4 stars represent CAP’s four core values: Integrity, Volunteer Service, Excellence, and Respect.

3 trees represent CAP’s three missions: Emergency Services, Cadet Programs, and Aerospace Education.

The sky, mountains, plains, trees, and river represent our mission area.

The CAP roundel identify our agency and represent our historical logo.

The Eagle is TVCS’s mascot.
